Background

Magnera operates a large and diverse retail ecosystem supported by multiple SAP environments, including ECC and S4HANA, along with legacy systems not yet converted to SAP.

Over time, regional and entity-specific processes created fragmented invoice workflows, limited cross-system visibility, and inconsistent reporting capabilities across the accounts payable organization.

 

The Challenge

Magnera’s accounts payable teams relied on manual, complex invoice processing across disconnected systems. Limited enterprise visibility, country-specific compliance requirements, and inconsistent workflows increased processing time, storage costs, and the risk of reporting gaps across global operations.

 

The Solution

Alitek designed and deployed an enterprise-wide invoice management framework built on OpenText Intelligent Capture for SAP, OpenText Vendor Invoice Management, and Extended ECM.

Intelligent Capture was implemented to OCR and digitize invoices across the organization, automatically storing invoice images and metadata within a centralized OpenText Archive and Document Access repository. This eliminated fragmented storage and created a single source of truth for invoice documentation.

OpenText VIM was deployed across both S4HANA and ECC systems in alignment with Magnera’s regional upgrade schedules. This ensured standardized invoice workflows while respecting country-level regulatory requirements and existing SAP configurations.

Extended ECM was rolled out to SAP and non-SAP entities using Business Workspaces to provide full access, transparency, and enterprise reporting for accounts payable leadership. The solution was implemented in five languages across 13 countries, enabling consistent global governance while accommodating local compliance needs.
